Welcome to the Adams Elementary School Website! I am Mrs. Ruch, the principal of Adams and Fairview Elementary Schools. Ms. Battani is the assistant principal a both Fairview and Adams. Linda Wonder is the school secretary.

We are off to a great start! Students and teachers have been hard at work.  We are thrilled to have 231 fourth and fifth grade students. It is amazing to see how much taller the students are this fall! There are twenty teachers at Adams Elementary. Many of these teachers are shared with Carroll Middle School. In addition, we have approximately fifteen classified staff members (i.e., secretary, teacher associates, custodians, and food service workers).

Adams Elementary serves as a "nice" transition between the lower elementary and middle schools grades. Students are expected to "fill in" in agendas with assignments, reminders, and/or homework each day. We set our expectations a "little" higher that Fairview so as to prepare the students to be more independent at Carroll Middle School.

Students attend the following specials' classes on either a three- or six-day rotation: art, music, physical education, guidance, library, and technology/keyboarding classes. Adams has a computer lab, two carts with laptops and an iPad cart that was just purchased. Teachers use a variety of technologies in their classrooms to include projection units and document cameras.

Now that winter is here... sort of... we're definitely in full swing in the school year. In the upcoming weeks and months, we will be testing students in NWEA for their winter scores as well as finishing up the 1st semester! It's hard to believe, but we are already halfway through the 2011-2012 school year!!! By now, a lot has taken place and a lot of knowledge has been attained. Our students continue to be our focus here at Adams, and our community of parents, grandparents, families, Carroll area residents, as well as many others, continue to support our kids' growth and education. Remember, Together, We're Better Than Ever!

We encourage students to wear orange, black, white, or gray on Fridays to show support for CHS teams. This has been a tradition for many years. GO TIGERS!
