As a part of Money Smart Week (April 22-29) Iowa Bankers Association sponsors the Money Smart Week Kid essay contest in partnership with the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. Through the contest, students are asked to answer a financial question and relate it back to their life. One student will be named this year’s Money Smart Kid and will receive a $1,000 College Savings account. Participants must reside in the Money Smart Week Iowa or Quad Cities region and must be in grade 7-11. The deadline to submit an essay is Friday, March 24, 2017, and the winner will be notified by April 19.

March 1, Herff Jones will be here with the graduation orders during lunch periods, if you ordered any graduation items besides cap/gown you will need to stop by the table and pick your order up. If you need to pay for any items you will need to do so at this time.
The annual CHS Student Senate Dodgeball Tournament will be held on Friday, March 3rd at 6:30 pm. Registration sheets are in the guidance office and must be returned with entry fee by Thursday, February 23rd. Get your team put together and your registration completed for this fun-filled, action packed event! All proceeds go to Relay For Life. Hope to see you there!

CHS is again participating in "It's Your Skin!" Contests through John Stoddard Cancer Center. It’s Your Skin Iowa, is a program to educate high school students about the dangers of indoor and outdoor tanning through friendly competition. Both contests have officially begun!
Hello! Between yesterday and today, 220 new pledges have rolled in and we have now collected a total of 366 pledges!The two schools in the lead for each division are East Union High School and now Oskaloosa High School. Keep up the good work!
Please remind students that we’ll choose our first winner of a $100 Amazon gift card on February 15 (next Tuesday!), so there is still time to post and the odds of winning are pretty good because there are only 5 entries so far! Students can post to #itsyourskiniowa a picture or video and blurb about why they choose not to tan or choose to be safe in the sun. We’ll determine the winner based on creativity and the message.
